HELLO HELLO!

Greetings from Boise, Idaho…

Never in a million years would I have thought I’d be saying that! LOL.

Also never in a million years would I have thought we’d be in a WORLDWIDE lockdown going into a recession meanwhile fighting corona virus.

WTH is going on??

So lots has changed since I last blogged or wrote one of these life updates on my blog {www.cyneats.com} which is currently down. I’m not mad about it though, because I really enjoyed creating this new site. I kinda dig it.

Feels more… adult? Refined? Sophisticated? It obviously still needs a ton of work and a logo, etc, but I wanted to get it up so you all can start trying these recipes at home!

So even though Craig and I postponed our wedding to next year, we still want to legally get married on our wedding date (if possible). Hence… the new website name :) I also thought it was fitting since I’m in Boise learning all the Cole’s cooking techniques and sharing their secret family recipes (like Joyce’s caramel cinnamon rolls… drool)

Our plans this year have been completely uprooted, including our life in Los Angeles. We were in escrow for a house, we were going to get married, have kids…. and then BAMN. With a snap of a finger, everything flew out the window.

Our lease in LA was ending, so we made the decision to get out early before things get worse. 2 days later, we moved our stuff into storage, packed a few bags, and left for Boise to spend quality time with his parents during this lockdown. We plan on moving back to LA once its safe to travel again.

We’ve been in Boise for a week, and I feel kinda guilty for saying this... but I’ve been loving every moment here.

I’ve been cooking and creating content every day. I honestly feel like there’s no other time in our lives where we get to work and focus solely on ourselves. Whether that’s reading, writing, working out, cooking, meditating, dancing, or whatever it is when we used to say “I don’t have time for that”. Welp, NOW WE DO.

6 years ago, I started my blog and taught myself photography, which eventually led to creating a marketing agency running social media accounts for restaurants + brands. When I look back at my journey, it’s been a pretty wild ride going full speed (with lots of failures and successes), going non-stop for the past 6 years.

Now work has slowed down and I’ve had time to reflect. I am feeling so grateful about all this down time to focus on building my own brand again (vs other people’s brands). It’s a different feeling. It brings me back to my 24 year old self, when I used to blog 4-5 times a day, writing whatever the hell I wanted. Taking pictures of anything and everything.

Today, I’m excited to create the content I WANT to create vs what brands expect me to create.

Anyways, let’s all take advantage of this time to better ourselves. I’m excited to come out of this quarantine a better chef than I ever was!

While we can’t be on the front lines helping out (shoutout to all the nurses and doctors), we can all do our part to flatten the curve. And that’s by staying home!! While we’re at home, let’s all work on a new skill so that we come out of this quarantine better than when we started.

I know i'll be cooking away, working out (well actually, now that the wedding isn’t till next year… maybe not? lol sorry Craig =p), and spending time creating quality content for you guys!

So come on this new adventure with me in the kitchen, and allow me to re-introduce myself…

Future Mrs. Cynthia Cole.
